What Is ECU Remapping?
ECU remapping — also known as ECU tuning or engine remapping — is the process of modifying the software calibration stored in your vehicle's Engine Control Unit. The ECU is the brain of your engine: it controls boost pressure, fuel injection timing and quantity, ignition advance, torque limiters, rev limits, throttle response, and more. From the factory, manufacturers calibrate all of these parameters conservatively — leaving significant performance, efficiency, and drivability improvements locked in the software.
